Poem 10

Smother me with night’s cloak,
Don’t want to breathe,
Would rather choke,
When I watch you leave.

Too many faces stare,
How much I have done wrong,
Strangers beware,
This is where I belong.

We always search for light,
When lost amongst the dark,
Sometimes out of sight,
When we must embark.

Yet hope reigns in the heart,
When we do believe,
Fresh mind – fresh start,
New love to conceive.

Best not to lean on others,
When we search for joy,
Unmasking of the covers,
Solitude we employ.

We have all we want and need,
At our very core,
Once we unravel the seed,
No longer damaged as before.
